Courtney Sindelar
Graduate Fellowship Recipient, 2024
Courtney Sindelar will be receiving her BA in Cognitive Sciences this June and will pursue her master of science degree in speech, language, and learning in the School of Communication in the fall. The Alumnae has recognized Courtney's outstanding academic commitment previously, by awarding her grants through both SIGP and STEM scholarships during her time as an undergraduate at Northwestern. Courtney's interest in Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) began in middle school volunteering for children with special needs and she has been working towards that as her career goal ever since. She made the Dean's list throughout her time at Northwestern, received the Carl F. Dill NUMB Alum Award, and served as a researcher in the Child Language Lab. She also volunteered with Books and Breakfast, working with local elementary schools to support student achievement.
Courtney hopes to use her master's degree to specialize in treating fluency disorders in children with diverse language backgrounds. Her support letters describe her as a "stellar student" who is "highly motivated, independent and thoughtful."
