Isabella Barber, from Los Angeles, Calif., expects to receive her BA in Global Health and Psychology in June, 2020. As an undergraduate, she did advanced coursework in Spanish Language and Culture at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. She also interned with the Peer Health Exchange where she implemented a comprehensive health curriculum in Chicago high schools. She will pursue a master’s degree in public health to develop and implement mental health curriculum for youth. She hopes to reach other Latinx families with culturally sensitive and age-appropriate material to empower students with the language and tools to discuss mental health.  As part of this program, she will intern for the Chicago Public School’s Office of Student Health and Wellness.
