The Alumnae of Northwestern University Awards Three Graduate Fellowships for 2023

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Alumnae of Northwestern University has selected three recipients to receive its 2023 Graduate Fellowships for graduate-level tuition. The fellowships are awarded to full-time students in terminal master’s degree programs who show promise of achieving distinction in careers that will serve the public good. Maya Blumovitz,  Lyra Johnson, Yaritza Chavez. Maya is pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, with a focus on medical technology.

The Alumnae of Northwestern University Awards $70,000 in Grants to Northwestern Projects

This year’s grant recipients came from Alumni Relations and Development; Bienen School of Music; the Block Museum; School of Communication in Qatar; McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science; Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications; and Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, among others.

Thirteen Students Awarded 2020 Alumnae Undergraduate Research Grants

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Alumnae of Northwestern University is pleased to honor 13 students who have been named as recipients of the Alumnae Undergraduate Research Grants.

“Today, increasing numbers of undergraduates from all disciplines want to pursue research projects on a variety of topics, including music, art history, psychology, biological sciences, Radio/Television/Film, global health, neuroscience, theatre, physics, and journalism. The Alumnae Centennial Endowment addresses this need by making such opportunities available,” notes The Alumnae president Michele Bresler.

Jennifer Lackey, Sarah Van Wart, and Sepehr Vakil have been named the 2020 recipients of The Alumnae of Northwestern University’s Award for Curriculum Innovation for helping create courses for undergraduate students.

Susan Page, 2019 Alumnae Award Recipient

 

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief of USA Today, is the recipient of The Alumnae of Northwestern University’s 2019 Alumnae Award. Her book, The Mariarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty, published in April 2019, is a New York Times best seller. She is now working on a biography of Nancy Pelosi, titled Madam Speaker.

The Alumnae Awards 6 STEM Scholarships for 2019-2020

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Alumnae of Northwestern University has selected six students to receive 2019-2020 Alumnae of Northwestern University STEM scholarships, which are awarded to students who excel in a STEM major (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). The intent of this scholarship program, which began in 2010, is to free students from work commitments so they may more vigorously pursue their chosen area of study and other university endeavors.

US Navy Vice Admiral, Lisa Franchetti (2016 Alumnae Award) receives 2019 Alumni Medal

Congratulations to US Navy Vice Admiral, Lisa Franchetti (2016 Alumnae Award) as one of three recipients of the 2019 Northwestern Alumni Medal--Northwestern Alumni Association’s highest honor. Her medal was presented at the President's Alumni Panel, Friday, October 25, 2019, at Norris Center. The other recipients are Bridgette Proctor Heller and Yie-Hsin Hung.
